Hi All
Posted previously about my experience with a Q95T and Sonos Arc, and connecting via eARC. On enabling eARC to Auto on the Sound Settings, no sound is output from the device and thats from any source, in built apps/Dolby Atmos/4K Blu etc.
On turning eARC off, sound is restored through the soundbar.
I have contacted Sonos and Samsung directly with both blaming the other party for the issue and that's disappointing.
On discussions with both communities, it now appears that users with the Q80T can connect via eARC, however many users with Q95T and Frame 2020 models cannot get sound via the eARC so potentially a big issue.
This also now sounds like a Samsung issue, as the standard eARC function not talking to the Sonos Arc via one connect, but other Samsung models are talking to Sonos Arc. I have seen evidence of this on a Q80T where eARC is working and the device shows as Reciever (HDMI eARC), on the Q95T, on setting to Auto you get Reciever HDMI.
Can this be escalated to samsung please as quite a lot of users are affected and returning tv's for other mfrs models?
Thanks
Mike

Me too. Awaiting to buy until sw update is released by Samsung (and working). Otherwise I might go with LG or another brand, that uses eArc to play atmos over sound bar

Hi Andrew,
can you get one of your av specialist to contact me as well please.
I am also having the same issues with my Q95T with Sonos ARC as well.
I also have a 2020 Frame tv with a connect box and if there is a major issue with the eARC and no fix on the horizon I think you should be taking these tv’s back from us.

Hello,
I also have this issue on my QE55T with Sonos ARC. Can Samsung confirm there is a fix coming? If not this TV is going back. It's driving me mad.

Andrew, i no exactly how you are feeling apart from i haven't yet purchased the tv (Q95t) but i really want the brightness of the screen and its compared to the lg gx. Surely there would of been a fix for this now? Im littarally bitting my nails over 1 click away from either the Samsung or the lg.

Sorry this, and other threads, are quite lengthy so I’m not sure if I’m replying correctly ...
Ive got a 75” Q95T and Sonos Arc, 2xSL and Gen 3 Sub.
I updated to the latest firmware releases - I think it was 1402 and then 1403 and I’m happy with what I have now.
Dolby Atmos works everywhere - internal apps, Apple TV and Xbox One X.
I occasionally get dropout of sound. For the 2-3h I’ve watched Virgin Media TV (that newer TV360 box), and now Netflix via my Apple TV, I’ve had one, perhaps two, dropouts for 2 seconds each. I’m really OK with that just now.
Not sure if that helps or if I’m missing something? The responses here seem to be out proportion to the fault I currently have.

Good for you that your drop outs are limited.
Also good for you that you feel although paying for a top of the line premium system, occational drop outs are acceptable.
I for one want to get what I paid for and something as major as eARC should work without any issues, and without any occasional drop outs, PERIOD.

So i can literally plug my arc into the Q95t update firmware and receive atmos on all apps and tv? Im confused people say atmos just doesnt work

Worth noting that ARC compressed Atmos is not eARC uncompressed DD+ Atmos.
Yes ARC works, but for those of us with more premium sound systems that rely on a more premium audio channel output (eARC outputs 32Mb/s, ARC is only 1), we need the full eARC bandwidth to push uncompressed sound out to all channels.
If you don't have a premium setup, you likely won't even realise you're using ARC and not eARC.

I have the same set up as above, sonos arc, 2xsl,and sub. I would like to buy the Q95t, plug the sonos arc into the eARC and receive atmos.. So is this possible or not? In any way. Or do i have to go to LG? Dont really want to

AFAIK this is working solely via eARC (as that is what 1402 brought - before that, enabling eARC would last for 2 second then switch off forever - it was like that for months. The Sonos app showed Dolby Atmos but when you went to system info in the Sonos app it would say compressed DD+), but the update 1402 provided correct use of eARC, which I could enable on the TV menu and retain, and the Sonos app shows Dolby Atmos throughout.
I may be missing something - it sounds like I am. If you want screenshots, etc, just ask.
and sorry, Jayze in answer to your specific question - buy it, it works. You’ll get full Atmos everywhere.
