It was sooo hot it actually melted the glass! Unbelievable house fire potential!

If you are in the UK
Have you tried contacting Samsung Customer Support and if so. Have they suggested anything.
Is the TV still under warranty
If you send details of the TV and what's happened to @Sam_UK to possibly help out.
If outside UK, you will have to contact customer support in your region

It's certainly nothing like this should happen, and something drastically has gone wrong, if there's been no third party interference or damage to have caused this.
