Hi
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the motion lighting setting and the ambient light detection setting?
A Google search gives me the same results.
Many thanks

I have the exact same question. I suspect that ambient light detection does nothing and makes room in the menu for ambient mode for the QLED tvs in 2019 that have that support. Samsung is supposed to start shipping ambient mode with the ability for a user to take a picture of the wall before they hang the tv, and the tv will blend itself into the wall and show floating information, photos, or a clock.

This doesn't answer the question, in some models under settings, general, eco solution there's 2 separate settings: ambient light detection and Motion lighting that reduce power consumption. The description is "clear" one adapts to light one to motion. What is not clear is the motion one I have tried changing both settings and can't tell when one is working vs the other. And to make it even more complicated there's a third setting " power saving mode" with off,low medium and high settings. These change the brightness right away and you can tell the difference immediately. The confusing part for me is the motion lighting setting, fast moving=brighter/dimmer or slow=brighter/dimmer? Is not clear...
