I've asked this on AVS Forum's and AVforums but, never got a clear answer and the control is driving me mad. I don't understand how the control is different from a regular brightness control, and I'm not talking about backlight.
According to AVS 0 is always the correct setting, as it does not ever raise true black, just the near black shades.
Some say it's a gamma control for only blacks, hence why it never lifts true blacks. I'd just like an answer if 0 really is the correct setting and for anyone who knows how these TVs work to explain it for me, thanks.
