Getting Error code 202 when trying to use apps or do anything on my tv via wifi.. The strange thing is I get "connected to the internet" via wifi, but then trying to use Netflix, hulu, etc...it doesn't work...digging deeper I found that I "cannot connect to smart hub" because there is an "ip blocking the service. error code 202." Everything works fine when I hard wire a lan cable...but that's not practical for my setup.

Ive had the tv for a solid 8 months and it worked fine..this just started happening.

No clue what to do... So far I've:

- factory reset the tv

- reset network

- put DNS server to 8888

- updated software (via lan)

- unplugged tv for 5 min

- called internet provider..they assured me there was no block on their end...

Need help getting tv to connect to my wifi. very strong speeds..good modem/router (netgear NightHawk and Orbi mesh system)

Again, everything's been fine for 8 months. I've done nothing different..Please help! I've looked everywhere! Thanks!

At first it said it didn’t work but it pushed something through the automatic configuration finally reset and connected! Thank you! You saved me a phone call to a service center!!

I've read all of these posts regarding error 202. I am also a network engineer and very well versed in networking. There are 4 Samsung smart TVs in the house. On the same day, three of the 4 stopped working and give this 202 error. The only app that still works on the TV is Netflix, the rest timeout in various ways.

I have changed DNS, I have manually input IP addressing, I have tested on IPv4 only, IPv6 only, dual stack configuration. Same 202 error every time. I've power cycled everything and factory reset TVs. I've changed routers. I've turned off all firewalls. I've tested all TVs on Ethernet and house WiFi. Same issue each time.

Nothing else in the house has any connectivity issues.

But, what gets me is if I put my cell phone in hotspot mode and connect the TV to my phone, the error goes away and everything works. I go back on AT&T fiber connection and the error returns.

So, it only fails when connected to AT&T fiber at the house. AT&T obviously say there is no issue since everything they can test works. Modem was swapped out just in case. Modem (Nokia fiber ONT) was put in router mode. Fails. Modem was put in passthrough mode and my Mikrotik router handled all routing. Fails. Firewalls verified off on modem and router.

If it really was a global AT&T fiber issue, way more AT&T subscribers would be crying out. And, one TV in the house with the same exact setup but slightly older works perfectly. So, how can I blame AT&T when one TV works and another with identical settings does not?

Found the issue, after 2 weeks and two tech visits. AT&T fiber is hijacking DNS requests upstream of our house. No matter what DNS server is used on the router or the device, that DNS request is hijacked and sent to an AT&T DNS server which is apparently not working correctly.

I configured my home router to use DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and that prevents AT&T from doing their crappy middle man attack on my DNS and now, everything works great again!

Cara, estou a meses com esse problema.... Já tinha reparado que voltava ao normal quando roteava do celular pra tv, mas nunca soube o que de fato fazer.

Cheguei até a pensar em vender a TV.

Poderia me auxiliar no que posso fazer pra me livrar também do problema?

Translation: Dude, I've been having this problem for months... I've noticed that it goes back to normal when I route from my phone to the TV, but I never knew what to do. I even thought about selling the TV.

Could you help me with what I can do to get rid of the problem too?
