Helle guys

Im helping out a friend who have a Samsung tizen tv, and he have the normal smart Iptv app installed. It worked fine the first days, but now it won't work. I have tried changing the DNS settings to 1.1.1.1, and 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, and nothing have worked now. What can i do? Something is blocking it.

Check your router settings, some routers might need iptv to be allowed through the firewall or enabled

Hey

Can u be more specific plz. When u say router settings, do i need to change something on my tv regarding the internet? Or do i need to reset my router..?

Im sorry, I'm kind of lost with all these things, i feel i have tried everything. But then i dont have alot of knowledge to it either.

Ah, I was quite vague, as every router is different. I know mine has a specific setting to allow IPTV through the firewall. You could try making your phone a hotspot, connecting the TV to your hotspot, and see if it works. If it does, it's the router; if it doesn't, it's the TV or the IPTV server.

I will try that later with the hotspot. But let's say it works, what can I do with the settings in the router, can i change something, because my friend won't change internet provider because of that.

Do u think it would help, if I make a total factory reset of the tv?

For the router thing I don't mean change Internet provider. By entering the ip of your router into your web browser you can access the configuration page for it, probs 192.168.1.1 . I have no idea what will be there as every router is different but there might be something somewhere that you can tweak to make it work if your hotspot works. I can't really add much more detail than that.

Myself I don't use iptv, I'm a university networking student. So I'm assuming the issue is something related to the network. If the issue is the tv itself, I don't have much ideas for that

Aha, alright i will try that. Cause i can see at my tv the internet gateway is 192.168.0.1, and mine works fine. I can check my friends gateway and see what numbers it says, and change it to either yours or mine.

Hope it works 🤞

Thank u for ur inconvenience

I don't mean change the ip. I mean your router hosts a website. Connecting to it you can change router settings

But how do I change the router settings, when I want to use the iptv app? Maybe I'm misunderstanding something

Go on your phone or a pc, open your browser, type in the ip of your router. You'll see a login page. The details will probably be on the bottom of your router. You can login and change how your router works.

So if your tv works on the hotspot but not router, some setting somewhere in the routers website should fix it
