I have model no. UE43AU9000KXXU bought Feb 2022. Somehow closed captions have started to appear when watching films. Probably Hubby pressed a wrong button somewhere? This did happen last year with previous tv, same model, but I can’t remember how we turned CC off. Looked in manual and YouTube but I can’t find the words and/or symbols for closed captions anywhere on tv or remote. Can anyone help please, using basic non technical words, we are not IT savvy. Thank you.

Hi tiplotner. I got help from Gina_p and she gave me solutions for Prime video and Netflix. I don’t use Hulu. I’m not very good at navigation this community but hopefully you can find Gina (GG) in this thread and ask her about Hulu. Good luck. If memory serves me, menu’s didn’t call it closed captions but hubby did trial and error till they stopped.

I stumbled across this trying to figure out how to keep cc off on our Samsung. Why does something this small, have to be this difficult. I am also no techie, and my husband hits wrong buttons. Whatever happened to user friendly? lol Our remote shows cc/ad under the volume which is completely ridiculous because that’s mute, so I have no clue how to fix this.

an issue nobody, that I can see has brought up… I have 5 Samsung TVs all fairly new. My problem is my Mother in law (85) keeps turning on Closed Captioning on her TV. The problem is all of the TV’s turn on Closed Captioning when she decides she needs it on her Samsung TV. There is no way to CONTROL this issue. Not that I can find? Each one can be turned off separately until she turns her TV back on. Then I turn hers off when I turn another TV on. This is not a GOOD situation ******* off my MIL all day long. Samsung Tech’s get hot & figure this out PLEASE! My situation is is almost DIRE !
