Channel 4 streaming App

I have a 2014 Samsung TV. Today I tried accessing All 4 . The App disappeared in front of my eyes but the new Channel 4 App is not there for me to download. I understand we have lost access to ITVX on older Samsung TV’s , which is really annoying . Have we now lost access to Channel 4 streaming services as well ?? Grateful for any help or advice .

Sorry but you've been given a detailed explanation.

The technology supporting the C4 App has moved on and no longer works with devices that are a decade old. That isn't a Samsung decision, it is a Channel 4 decision.

Talking about stealing is a ridiculous and quite frankly pathetic statement to make.

Read the solution, understand why and then post by all means but think about your tone and language.

I am sorry if my language offends you, but it is a mild version of how I feel.  I have older Tvs that still work with Channel 4 , 5 and ITV X.  The Tv was £1600 and was advertised as being upgradable.  This has proved to be untrue.  Do the apps really not work, as mine were fine when others reported the Apps missing.  They were taken away from me without my consent hence I feel they were stollen.  No solution has been provided other than to buy a new TV or 3rd party streaming device.  Poor show.  I have 3 other Samsung TVs throughout the house and dread the day they also have the Apps removed.  Your response implies that Samsung TVs are only good for 10 years - perhaps that is something you should say in your adverts!

As someone who has chosen not to buy Samsung TVs over the years due to quality issues, I can sort of see your point, but these days TVs aren't designed to last decades sadly (not saying that it is right either).

Similarly I struggle to understand why untill recently mobile devices only got a couple of years of updates.

Big Tech does need to get better.

But I still don't agree nor appreciate your 'stealing" comments in the same way as I don't agree when people claim they are being scammed because their cashback is a day late etc
