Can't select photos for ambient mode

Hi,

I recently purchased a Samsung 75 inch QLED with ambient mode (QE75Q6FN). Initially ambient mode worked, but now I cannot select pictures on my iPhone when using Samsung's app "Smart things". Control works and even settings for ambient mode, but when I click to "Select photos" I just get a spinner and am unable to see any photos.

Any ideas on what I should do in order to make this work?

I have already reset the TV fully, signed in and out of my Samsung account on both devices, deleted the account and created a new one, and tried connecting from another iOS device. Follow the issue with the ambient mode, I also had an issue where I could not access the App store on the TV (just a spinner), but that resolved following that I created a new Samsung account.

Hi PeterK4, Thanks for posting here, yes you have exactly the same problem as I do. 

Since i posted here I have been awaiting Samsung to assist via their phone help. They were supposed to help me within 72 hrs, I phoned them after the 72 hrs, they said it was still being looked into. Still I've heard nothing back.

If either of us get a solution, could we post it here. Thanks.

same here... I stayed years away from samsung since the rootkit-scandal. Ambient Mode seemed a great feature, but no....Teaches me to keep lessons learned.

If they would only be frank and clear about, then i would have safed hours of searching for a solution that apparently does not exist. And its a shame, because its such a great TV, beside this issue

I tried it after receiving your email and woo hoo, it works for me also. 

I purchased this tv to see artwork in the full screen mode and now it does what they advertise. 
Therefore an iPhone IS compatible with a Samsung tv.    I went through two weeks of nearly every night linking with Samsung and SmartThings support & just going around and around in circles, everyone saying different things, until I just gave up exhausted, frustrated and needing to get more than 3 hours sleep! 
I’m so pleased that this has been sorted and hopefully people will not be going through the same stress.

Folks I also faced a similar 014300 error sending photos into Ambient mode. This trick worked: once you select the photos, instead of directly sending to TV, go into crop and adjust the photo. Maybe the crop actually resizes the image to fit. After that send to TV. Let me know how it goes. Cheers..

Hi 

I have a Q9fn and this feature never worked for me. However I am now trying to get it working and in the process found that ST app would not connect to the tv saying the tv was off line when it’s not. 
anyway it was caused by the fact I’d upgraded my phone. All updated from the old phone so logged in ok but the app was t happy as it’s the wrong device. Deleted the device and re loaded, and the remote control in smart things now operates the tv again. So back to where we started here 

So now the we have finally decorated the lounge I wanted to upload the surrounding wall paper behind the tv to ambient mode and get that working. However I’m buffered ifni can see how to do it through the app..? Any advise? I’m wondering if the tv is compatible after all. 
ever get the feeling one is chasing one’s own backside?

Same issues in 2024.

Has been working fine for the last three years but yesterday I stupidly decided to update the software on by AU8000. It updated to version 2210. The photos uploaded from my galaxy phone weren't showing in ambient mode. Now every time I try and upload them again I get error message 015400. WHY is it so bloody complicated? I wish Samsung would get their act together!

Has anybody else had this problem, and is there a solution?
