Hi,
I recently purchased a Samsung 75 inch QLED with ambient mode (QE75Q6FN). Initially ambient mode worked, but now I cannot select pictures on my iPhone when using Samsung's app "Smart things". Control works and even settings for ambient mode, but when I click to "Select photos" I just get a spinner and am unable to see any photos.
Any ideas on what I should do in order to make this work?
I have already reset the TV fully, signed in and out of my Samsung account on both devices, deleted the account and created a new one, and tried connecting from another iOS device. Follow the issue with the ambient mode, I also had an issue where I could not access the App store on the TV (just a spinner), but that resolved following that I created a new Samsung account.

On the TV try Settings/General/System Manager/Samsung Account and if you're not logged in, log in again. Then check if your ambient mode shows your pictures.
The easiest way I've found to load photos I've downloaded the free Samsung Gallery application to a Windows PC. Sign in with the same Samsung Account login and upload pictures to the Samsung Cloud. I've found that on my Samsung Q6 1544px x 701px matches the proportions of the MONO photo on a colour background (not full screen) which is more like 20:9 instead of 16:9 ratio.
Then in the Samsung Smart Things App on your mobile device go:
Device/Samsung TV/Ambient Mode/Photo/Choose from Calendar,Daily,Board,Mono,Duo/Select Photos/Gallery (your mobiles photos) or Samsung Cloud (uploads)/Select the photos/View on TV (at bottom)

--> Check your samsung account login data on your TV
--> Settings/General/System Manager/Samsung Account
Same thing here (Samsung Q7 TV),
at some point the uploaded pictures disappeared, and I could not upload them anymore. It gave me a weired error message like "the app is currently in use, try to stop it...". I thought it had to do with a systemupdate, where samsung forgot to update this feature. All the other ambient mode features were functional.
So I waited for another update. But after a while I discovered, that my TV lost my samsung account login data. Maybe that is what happened with the update...
After entering the data again, uploading an displaying personal pictures works fine, again.

Hi! I had the same issue and got super frustrated BUT my husband figured it out. Apparently you have to set the TV to use Wifi instead of direct connect to internet. It has to be the same wifi as the one your phone is using to connect with Smart Things app if you have multiple internet providers like us. With direct connect, I can use the "take photo" of my wall to blend in with the TV but the part where I select my own personal photos to connect to Ambience didn't work until the TV setting was changed to using Wifi. Try that, hope it helps and enjoy your TV 😊.
