Burning smell from tv

We've only had our 65" 4k curved Samsung TV for 5 years and yesterday it started making a horrible burning smell. We even had the fire department come.

As I started searching for more info, I found others having similar issues with Samsung TVs. Any resolution or is this tv "fried"? I really don't want to have to buy a new TV but if I do, it surely won't be a Samsung.

I've started noticing this lately from my TV as well, a 55js9005. Sometimes when i walk by my tv at night when its on a get a smell of hot/burnt electronics. Seems to be coming from the left side of the screen. The edge of the screen/edge LEDs feels very hot to the touch and they have started to bleed some light into the screen.

I've turned the backlight down from 20 to 15, hopefully that will help a little, but i'm worried that the tv will get fried and stop working completely.

This just happened to my Samsung TV too.  I bought a 55" NU6950 Smart 4K UHD TV (55NU6950) in Jan 2020.  Today, the TV turned on for less than a minute before the screen flashed and turned black.  Then a burning smell started emanating from the TV so I unplugged it immediately.  This is after less than 3 years of light use.  Samsung, please help!

Similar happened to me.  Bought a 75" (QN75QN90AAFXZA) 3 months ago and have been using approx 3 hours a day.  Then, I heard 3 low/deep sounds coming from the TV followed by a couple of pops.  The screen flickered, went dark blue and burning smell took over the room.  Probably was an electrical arc but I am very afraid that while the tech will find a circuit board burned out, the cause of the issue will remain.  My specific TV is a fire hazard.
