TV: UE55 NU7500
I'm not sure whether this is a general Samsung issue or just to do with my TV, but the amount of space allocated to the Smart Hub apps seems to be seriously lacking.
As this is a new TV I thought I'd explore some of the available apps, but when I went into the Apps area I got a message saying that there was insufficient space to update apps. This was before I had downloaded anything, so it would purely apply to the pre-installed apps.
I checked settings and the used space was 751MB with 64MB available, i.e. 7%. This seems absurd as these apps can't be deleted and are built into the system. The available space doesn't even allow them to be updated. I then tried resetting Smart Hub. This has helped to an extent as the available space is now 13%. However, it's still far too low and whenever I try and download a new app I get a warning about available space.
I can't believe that the pre-installed apps are taking around 700MB of space, and it seems crazy that Samsung would design the system this way. Presumably I will have to install an SD card to provide more space for the apps?
Any tips welcome as this is my first Samsung TV.

I finally got in touch with Samsung's 'technical' support.
I, quite correctly, told them that even IF I could manage to update the TV, that the problem of storage would STILL persist.
No amount of software teaks, or upgrades, masks the fact that this will NOT be fixed without a new board installed with extra capacity on it.
They were supposed to call me back today.
I asked 'What if they didn't?'
He replied 'I guarantee they will'
As I quite honestly pointed out that I record all my calls, with his 'guarantee' statement made, I made the following reply:
"If you do not honour your 'guarantee' to return the call today, tomorrow I will call John Lewis and return the TV. This is because you fail to acknowledge the problem and do not care about the product I bought for a very substantial sum.
I will then pursue my, already lodged, complaint with the Office of Fair Trading"
"They WILL call you"
It's now 6:30pm in the UK
Have a guess if they called?
One caveat of advice I can happily pass on. RECORD all your calls on your mobile. It gets rid of the he said/she said debacle.

Samsung refuse to point to any written specification that states how much storage is on the NU7000 series, but they've told various posters on here that it's 4GB, which it clearly isn't. Just going by the used space and available space, adding them together shows around 800MB, which would probably mean a 1GB drive if you include space for formatting. On all the other ranges it adds up to a little under 4GB, or 3GB in some cases. It's a total mystery why this design error occurred. If it's the same in Vietnam it's probably the case on all NU7000 TVs and not just bad batches.

Georgek1.
No my board has not been replaced, not even got to the stage where they have offered this.
At the moment all they have said is try factory reset and hub reset both of which i have done without any joy.

monk2,
did you already replaced the motherboard of your TV? Or you are in the very beginning waiting to replace your motherboard?

This works, but all the stock apps get reinstalled automatically when the TV next pushes out updates. So you would need to turn off auto updates too to stop that, but then of course you wont get the latest version of any apps you have installed.

Thank you for this. Still Unable to delete E- manual even with details given in video.
Reseting hub i have done before but as said turning off updates seems counter productive.
Still awaitng call back from Samsung.

Update on my situation:
As Samsung, predictably, have not called me back, I have just got off the phone with John Lewis.
They have arranged a Samsung accredited engineer to come to assess the TV on Tuesday.
I have said to John Lewis that even if they force an update onto the TV, I am still back to square one on starage issues.
So we are at an agreement that a board has to be installed from a compatible set (NU8xxx or RU7xxx)
If these boards are not compatible, then a "set of relevant to yours, or higher" will be issued.
We are looking at a 65NU8400 (which they do not stock) or most probably 65RU7400 (which they do stock) as a replacement.
John Lewis deserve a medal. Shame Samsung never even gave me an option of an engineer

We buy smart tivi cause it can down app and do stuff on that, if we turn off the update then I dont see the point to buy smart tivi (same with the 800MB memory)???
FYI, I do the reset smart huh, the preinstall not appear, but after 1 night, it just download and install itself back without premission from us, but it still give some space back (around 20MB lol).
BTW, in vietnam, we do have a samsung factory, and the issue still got my TV, so I can say this is world wide issue, but this still not make big problem cause most of owners like us still dont know about this issue, I think about speard the news to some face group.
