Ambient mode won't turn to tv when AVR turned on

If I have ambient running, how do I quickly switch back to TV?

For example my AVR is connected to the TV via HDMI, so normally If I turn on the AVR it also turns on the TV. However if I have ambient running, when I turn on the AVR, ambient keeps running. What I want to do is have ambient running, but when I turn on the AVR I want ambient to stop and switch to the TV. 

My TV is an AU8000

@Chalklands: If your TV is in Ambient Mode, then you can press the Home button on the remote to return to the TV mode. If you press the Power button when the TV is turned off, then this will also return to the TV mode.

I know I can do that, but I'm trying to cut down on the remotes I have to fiddle about with. My Nvidia Shield remote will turn the TV and the AVR on/off just fine, but I just want to be able to switch from ambient mode by just turning the TV on with the Nvidia remote.

Think I found a solution using Alexa and Smartthings. Need to do some testing though.
