I recently purchased the Galaxy S24 as part of the trade-in offer. The trade in offer has been denied on the basis that my phone is damaged/bleeding etc. I took several photos prior to sending it to Asurion which show my phone in near perfect condition.
Because I was being denied (wrongfully I believe) the trade-in offer I asked to return the Galaxy S24, which was unopened and still in its original packaging. The return has been declined by Samsung via email that just stated "null" and that there would be further information on my Samsung account (there wasn't).
I can see from online forums that this has happened to numerous other people and some are now considering class action due to what they consider a scam. This is hugely disappointing from Samsung who should be operating as a reputable company and not participating in something as underhand as this. I've had Samsung phones for years but I'm afraid they have completely lost my support through this.

Yes I have had this problem twice with Samsung Tradein. The first time I had to ring Samsung UK to get them to sort it out. SamsungTradein were asking for another 100 GBP not in accord with the tradein conditions offerred. Now for a second phone replacement 3 years later they are asking for 50 pounds and say they will get the phone cut off if I don't pay. As I was concerned about this I rang Samsung UK before I did the deal this time to check. Now I have to try and get back to Samsung UK (phone is always busy) to get them to sort these turkeys out. This behavour is damaging Samsung's reputation.

I found this thread after looking on Google about a company Samsung Spain uses for their trade ins. I also have had a terrible experience with the company they use here called Mondo Affari. The sad thing is Samsung did not tell me during the purchasing of the new Samsung S25 Ultra that they would use a third party or who they would be. If I had known I would have sold my phone privately or to a local phone shop.
I was waiting for weeks for Mondo Affari to confirm receipt they had received S24 Ultra, their tracking offered zero information, their email replies are standard auto reply's, nobody contacted me about the phone for weeks and then they knocked the price down I was quoted from Samsung! I decided to Google the company then and many people who had used them had their phone go missing when they had refused the lower offers Mondo Affari seem to be known for!
I decided to take the lower offer rather than risk it going missing on the return journey and they then emailed me to say I will receive the payment in 60 days!
Normally I upgrade my phone with Samsung but having experienced this shocking treatment in the future if I decide to, I will use a local shop and use their trade in scheme. Samsung genuinely don't care about their customers, just try reaching out to a human and getting support!
