I'm sending my phone off tomorrow with Royal Mail to have my phone traded in. However the letter says

"Please ensure the Royal Mail Tracked 48 label is used to post your trade in device"

But I don't want to send it 48 hour tracked, I want to pay for a service that will cover me if lost to a higher value. So am I still OK to write the label out and put this on?

Your fine to send it as special delivery.

Tell the post office employee what's in it and ask for the different levels of insurance @Kenny06

I did this when I sent my Samsung Fold³ in for trade-in.

Thank you! I just find it abit weird for them to put that it needs to be on the parcel when not sending it that way

Take the label with you to the post office and the post office employee will take the information from it and supercede that one with a special delivery option @Kenny06

As above. I found they received it the next day via Special Delivery and trade in was complete. I got asked by the Royal Mail person what the value of my item was. I said £50 (it wasn't lol, it was an S23+) but I thought higher the value, the more the postage. I could be wrong and I dont suggest you do the same!

@GreaterGalaxyUK they want to know the value of the item so that appropriate insurance can be added.

I told them the item was a phone that costs £1,600 and they insured the package accordingly. To be honest the cost was minimal.

Ah right. I thought it was to charge more for postage. Good to know thanks!

The label has the trade in barcode on it. I put the label on it and the post office covered the royal mail postage with the special delivery postage that I paid extra for.

Did you stick the 48 hour label on the box also? Comment below says it has the trade in barcode on it.

My label just states what my trade in reference is? I just don't want them to ship it via 48 hours. I'll speak with the post office tomorrow.
