My S21 struggles to connect to wireless Android Auto on my 2023 VW car and keeps disconnecting. Any ideas what the issue is?

Yes me too I had feelings of cells switching. But I think it's really a problem issue with Mib3 car system and galaxy S. With a54 Samsung no problem. With my s21 ultra no way to connect it. Meanwhile my s21 ultra works perfectly on BMW x1. No disconnections at all.

Hi everyone. This morning my tiguan had a big sistem update OTA. Around 4gb update. Now my galaxy s21 ultra finally got back to connect stable with android auto wireless.  No disconnections at all. Anyway I got it this morning so it's early to say victory. Will see in next days if really stable.

Hi My tiguan had a big update too. Did you have to delete the phone from car and reconnect?

I have the 23 ultra.

Hi,

As mentioned in this post there is a big ota update for vw cars.  It 4gb.

You need let the update download. Then you need to let it install while you are out of the car. Takes about 20min.

Then remove your car from andriod auto app on phone. Remove bt and wfi from phone too.

Then in your car remove your phone.

Reinsert cable and approve connections. Then andriod auto will work wirelessly and it will not disconnect. I have been using it for a few days and it now works flawlessly.

I'm having the same issue on my S21Ultra with a Sony XAV9500ES radio. Seems like everyone says it's time tonshell out 1200+ dollars for a new phone or deal with the spotty connection. I have done every update / delete & reconnect you could do to all devices. My friend's s23 works perfect on the radio...

I have the same problem with my (18month? old) S22+ on a new VW   T-ROC.
VW checked car and said there is no issue, iPhones connect ok, S24 worked but not extensively tested. as a result I will have to change my phone and this is steering me toward a manufacturer that I know will be guaranteed to work. Is there a fix before I go ahead? Can Samsung work with VW and other manf to sort this out?
SHOULD THIS WORK WIRELESSY OR AM I WASTING MY TIME?

Difficult to say if it will work or not. Me I waited 6 months (AA wireless not working with s21 ultra). In April this year I finally received 4gb update software for my 2023 tiguan and since April till now everything work fine again.  All it depends from car software update and which country you leave. Me I'm in Italy maybe someother in other countries still haven't received the car update. Anyway all it depends on VW software update and when they release it. For sure iphone never had problems. Only galaxy S had it.

I've had a similar issue with my last 2 Samsung phones, S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra and my last 2 cars, Ford Focus and Ford Mustang Mach-e, it disconnects when both wireless and when plugged in. I've noticed that it only does it when the weather is hot.

I thought this was just a me-issue and tried everything to fix it and it was so frustrating bc it worked on everyone else's phone but mine, I didn't think it would be a Samsung-specific issue but I even went as far as switching phones from my S23 Ultra to the new Z Flip 6 BUT IT STILL DOES IT, really making me reconsider Samsung rn even tho I have been with them since I got my first S7 edge when it released but it seems like they aren't taking this issue as seriously as they should be and it is frustrating bc I don't have a USB plug-in since my head unit is aftermarket (and it wasn't cheap) it's just wireless and I have had to resort to just using the built-in Bluetooth feature for music and holding my phone up if I need google maps or to make a call and its just ridiculous!!!!

I have such problem with my S23 Ultra and BMW iX1. It keeps disconnect and reconnect every 3~5 min. It's really annoying. Since the BMW OS don't support the physical cable Android auto, so i don't know if this is WI-FI, Bluetooth, One UI 6.1 or Android 14 issue. I reset my phone, upgrading the OS and everything. The problem still there. I  think I'll waiting for the One UI 7 or any other upgrade. If the next version don't work. I'll change to another phone.
