Sending an emoji on S20 plus

Can anyone help please, this is doing my head in.

When I send a text message with no words but only an emoji it appears large on my screen, how can i make it be a normal size please . They are normal size to the people who receive the emoji but still are large on my screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated

When you say big, do you mean about double the size of a normal emoji?

Workaround... place a full stop, (period), before the emoji.

No about 4 times the size

Not sure it can be changed. As the other comment said, you can add a full stop but I appreciate that isn't the same

My S20 Ultra 5G using Google Message and GBoard. The screenshot shows my side of the conversation and consists of 4 tests.

Test 1 Shows a straightforward emoji sent

Test 2 Shows some text sent with the emoji

Test 3 Shows a space and the emoji

Test 4 Shows a full stop (period) sent with the emoji.
