No Microphone in Messages app since android 14 update.

Since my Galaxy S21 FE installed the android 14 update, the microphone button is no longer available when using the Messages app.  I have searched for and performed all the troubleshooting steps I could find without success.  The app does have permission to access the microphone and I've tried with both the Samsung and Google keyboards.

 The microphone is available and functioning properly with all other apps on the phone.

All answers here refer to Samsung native apps. If your problem refers to Google software then you need to reach out to them. Or try changing the voice input to Google.

Apparently with the new messaging RCS messages, you need to download Gboard- the google keyboard app. 

That fixed the issue for me
