'Network Mode' action stopped working in my existing Routine

Hello,

I use Galaxy S22 Ultra. I have defined a routine that I trigger manually when I am in my office.

One of the actions in this routine is to switch Network Mode from "4G/3G/2G (auto)" to "3G/2G (auto)" because 4G/LTE reception in my office area is very poor and my mobile phone constantly keeps trying to get a better 4G signal reception hence higher battery drain.

I realized that with a recent update - either OS update or 'Modes and Routines' app update - has broken switching Network Mode feature such that starting this routine manually does not switch Network Mode from "4G/3G/2G (auto)" to "3G/2G (auto)" anymore.

Upon checking further, it appears that action 'Network Mode' has completely disappeared when I try to add this action in a brand new Routine. This action used to be in action group 'Connections' previously.

Please check the screenshot of my existing routine that uses action 'Network Mode'....

Is anyone else facing similar issue and potential fix for the same..? Switching Network Mode via a routine was very convenient for me and it saved my battery upto 25% on a given day - so I need this working back badly.

Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.

Hi do you use this action in any other routine, as sometimes that causes it to break.

@dhaivat_desai: Looking at your screenshot, you have your routine set up to turn off Mobile Data, which is likely to be why you're unable to change the network mode (as the other operation 'turn off mobile data' is preventing it). If you remove 'Mobile Data > Off' from the routine, does this help?

@UNKNOWNUSERNAME - I am not using this action in any other routine. And this routine was just working fine some time ago. I don't know when it stopped working though.

No, it does not help. Moreover, this routine was just working fine until some time ago. Rest of the actions in this routine still work fine except this 'Network Mode' one. Also, turning off mobile data has no relation with network mode and that's why they were given as two separate actions.

I also tried to check changelog for last couple of updates of 'Modes and Routines' app - but I could not find anything related to 'Network Mode' action being decommissioned. It is very sad that features in an official flagship software can also stop working like this.. 😞

I am not using this action in any other routine. And this routine was just working fine until few weeks ago. I don't know when it stopped working exactly though.

I tried that and found out that action 'Network Mode' is missing completely when I try to add it after creating a new routine. It is very strange because there is no mention of removing this action in CHANGELOG.

Routine above saved me upto 25% of battery drain mainly due to poor 4G reception in the area. And it was just one click from a desktop widget shortcut for this routine when I enter and leave the office. Things are not same anymore..! 😓
