Cannot make payments or add cards to Google Wallet on Samsung A54

I'm experiencing an issue with Google Wallet on my Samsung A54 that started around the beginning of May 2025. Prior to this, I was using the service without any problems.
Here's what's happening:
  • Unable to add new cards: I can no longer add any new payment cards to my Google Wallet.
  • Existing cards not working for payments: My previously added cards, which have sufficient funds and work fine for direct purchases, are no longer usable for payments through Google Wallet.
  • NFC functionality seems okay: I've tested the NFC on my phone, and it's able to read other cards, such as my public transport card, suggesting the NFC hardware is functioning.
  • Other passes work: Other passes stored in my Google Wallet, like my medical insurance card and public transport card, continue to work without issues.

I have been passively aggressively referred to Samsung by Google support 🙂

One UI 7.0

Android 15

Is it indeed Samsung related problem, that got to be fixed by Samsung?

Contact your bank, they'll probably be blocking it or not allowing it to happen
