Sin e the recent update my phone has been odd. I have managed to get rid of the Arabic dates it was displaying but now I have another problem. When someone likes a text, instead of "Liked" I now get a sentence in Italien. Any ideas on how to fix this, entertaining as it is.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience after the recent One UI 7 update, @Members_DVG0LM5. I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue with the Arabic dates, but we understand the confusion caused by receiving message reactions in Italian instead of English, even if it adds a bit of international flair!

This issue may be related to the system language settings or a messaging app syncing with a different language preference (possibly from the sender’s device or region settings). To help resolve this, please try the following steps:

  1. Check system language settings:
Go to Settings > General Management > Language and Input > Language
Ensure that English (your preferred region) is set as the default.

  2. Check messaging app settings:
If you're using Samsung Messages or Google Messages, check if the app itself has language preferences and that they match your device language.

  3. Clear the cache of the messaging app:
Go to Settings > Apps > [Your messaging app] > Storage > Clear Cache

  4. Restart your device after applying these settings.
