Can anyone help?. Why is a friend getting photos of mine in google photos ? Have never sent them, one photo I don't even have but is a family member. Have never done the shared album thing either. We are not near each other but she is still getting photos of mine or of family members. No old phones linked to account. Have changed passwords etc cleared cache

If you checked and not enabled in your Google photos then check if your family members somehow shared it

They don't have or know friends number so don't know how she is getting photos

Through what method is your friend receiving these photos? Bluetooth? Other? Are they just suddenly appearing on her device without any prompts or notifications? Who is sending them? Are these photos that should of been received by you, but instead getting diverted to her device?

I appreciate your concern here, @Dais1, and I looked into this for you. From what I've been able to glean (and this isn't definitive, as I'm referring to a third-party app), it's likely that you've shared or linked your data at some point (perhaps with another app that lets you sign in with your Google credentials).

In any case, I highly recommend having a look on the Google Photos Help Support Pages, as there are some threads about this topic (and different ways to unravel and resolve it).

If none of the suggestions work, you might wish to post this on that site, clearly explaining what you've tried thus far. I'm sure you'll be able to get to the bottom of it.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks, If you're really concerned and want to resolve it, then get as much info as possible. Ask her how the files are being received. Ask her to investigate any notifications and ask to see them if possible.

You're 100% sure about the sharing feature in Google Photos is NOT activated on anyone's device / account? An invitation would of needed to be sent out if that's the case. Is your friend close to any of your family members who may want to send her photos, or maybe they've sent the invitation to the wrong person? Ask if anyone close to you has sent any family photos recently and ask them to check where and who to.

It is very difficult for us to pinpoint this without more info.
See links below for how Google photo sharing works. It might help
