washing machine timer stops for 15 minutes while wash continues?

I have just bought a Samsung WW80TA046AE. I put is on the 'mixed load' programme and noticed while it was rinses the timer stayed at 17 mins (left to go) for 15 minutes! Could anybody please explain why?
