Hi all,
I have a Samsung Series 5+ washing machine about 7 months old, I was happy with it at first but after a while I became concerned about the noise (A loud rhythmic tapping sound while spinning at speed and the whole thing seems to heave itself about when starting to ramp up) . I rebalanced it multiple times, moved from the suspended wooden floor it was on in our garage conversion onto solid concrete (before contacting Samsung as I expected they'd flag this up), however it was still the same. I contacted them and they sent an engineer out who within 2 minutes diagnosed it with a warped drum. We wait 2 weeks for the next engineer to say the drums not warped, that the replacement one is likely worse, but he had to fit it anyways. He did fit it, it passed his checks, but it remained the exact same, so another engineer came out who checked it again, said there's nothing wrong, passed all it's checks and suggested it was the suspended floor.....
I've since had a concrete foundation put in to rule it out, fully balanced it, and the washing machine only visibly moves slightly even at 14000rpm, however as you can hear in the video there is still a loud tapping sound coming from the back of the washer. It is running at about 50% clothes capacity so approximately 4kg on the cotton cycle in the video.
I'm questioning what it even sounded like when we first got it....was the sound already there? Is it just normal vibration and noise for a washing machine and I'm being overly sensitive? I'm sure our old one we used in the same room didn't make that noise. Part of me feels like I'm being gaslighted by the Samsung contracted engineers.
Could anyone share their thoughts on the noise in the video and whether they think it's normal or not? I really just want peoples shared thoughts and experiences who've got similar washing machines.
Thanks!

Hi, we had the same issues with our brand new washing machine. It sounded like a jet engine starting up in the house. Technician came out and told us we were overloading the machine. We did a smaller wash and problem persisted. Escalated to the Sales person and store manager and a replacement machine was delivered. 2 washes later the sound was back. A new technician came out and found that the cement stabiliser block inside the machine that sits on top of the drum was not fitted properly. He refitted the block and it's been a year later and no noise. Hope that helps? Good Luck
