Washing machine has suddenly started pausing mid cycle - WF80F5E0W4W eco bubble 8kg

Machine has been brilliant until just started doing this yesterday....I thought I had accidentally knocked it and when I pressed start/pause it fired up again?!

I cleared drain this evening and recalibrated the machine but problem still persists.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue for me? I could really do without the expense of an engineer while I am furloughed 😕

Purchased the Samsung echo bubble just over a year ago , a few months ago the power went off mid cycle , rung Samsung on the phone for over an hour gave up in the end and decided to check the fuse , I replaced the fuse and everything was fine , then a few days ago it stopped again and could hear sizzling come from the plug /socket panicked unplugged it and the plug had started melting , I have had an electrician out just to check my socket on the wall and everything is fine , so the problem is with the washer and Samsung must be aware of this problem has when my partner phoned them they told him to unplug it and not use it till the engineer can come in Monday , it’s really knocked my confidence  using this washer

@Washer : I'm really sorry to hear that you have experienced this issue. We take matters of customer safety very seriously, and this is why you have been advised to avoid using the appliance until an engineer can inspect it. I completely understand your concerns, however please be assured that the matter will be investigated, so we can get the issue sorted for you.

Hi

I did the calibrating on mine and it didn't work.  I notice when you start the machines it goes through the steps until it has to start washing then it is as if the drum can get momentum to move around.  You also hear a scratching sound as if the machine is trying to do something but it just can't get there.  When I put it on to rinse and spin it works perfectly.  What do you suggest?  Could it be the board?  Surely it wont make a scratching sound on the board?

I'm having the same as everyone else in this thread. My washing machine pauses itself mid cycle, then when you press start it's like the drum won't turn. But there's no issues with the drum turning if you put it on a rinse and spin, so it's obviously not the motor. Samsung seem to be aware of this problem but aren't rectifying the issue.

For some time we have been having this issue and running a clean of the machine in the form of Hot wash and the cleaning treatments has been keeping the machine running without replacement for more than 1 year.  I suspect that the engineer changes the motherboard and runs a good cleaning cycle to justify charging for the motherboard.  There may be a fault with the electronics but this is likely to be at the PCB level rather than anything else as you do not expect silicon to go wrong but connections between components may.  If this is the case then better mounting of the motherboard to reduce fatigue stresses would be needed.  It is also possible that the sensors are breaking down in which case the fault is in the failure to include the affected sensor in the error codes.

Really suggest a very hotwash and cleaning treatment if you can the machine to cycle.

Thank you for this, my machine's been doing the same thing for a while, but i think i might have had a slight improvement after my list clean cycle (not done at often as i should). Will try it again this afternoon and see how it runs afterwards. Definitely worth a try! I've loved my machine and it's served our family of 4 really well for 7 years, but would really like to extend it's life a bit longer! 😊

It is worth trying, we managed to nurse about 10 months out of the machine but finally had enough, replacement machine is arriving of Friday.  I will take the old one to the workshop but not confident that anything short of a new motherboard will fix and that will be a big gamble

Nice! I've loved ours and it's served us pretty well up to now. At the moment i run my business from my kitchen so it's easy enough to just hit play again every time it pauses, but frustrating not to be able to run a wash through the night. Interestingly we bought 3 appliances at the same time (all different brands) and 2 developed issues and one packed up all within the space of a few months 🤔

I have the same problem with my Samsung washing machine. I have found a way of stopping it doing this through trying different things. Press the machine on button. Before selecting washing machine programme take the delay timer through 24 hours. Then select programme. I’ve been doing this every time I use the machine for the past week and the programmes have gone through without pausing.
