Auto Dispense - Conditioner

Hi,

I  wondered if there was anyone on here with the same issues as myself...

I have the WW5500 Add Wash machine.

My first issue is that the conditioner is not going through to the machine when it's on its cycle. It's an auto dispense draw and it's set on level 3, which is the maximum it can be set on. However, I have not filled the draw for about a month now and the conditioner draw is still full. I have cleaned it, cleaned the back of the draw inside the machine & also added water to thin the conditioner out and it's still not working. The auto dispense for the washing liquid is working fine.

Is there anything else I can do before the service people come out?

Also, I find the auto dispense doesn't make the washing smell nice and clean, so I don't think it uses enough wash and conditioner... does anyone else think the same?

We also have a Samsung TV which is always dropping signal and we have to reconnect all the time and the tumble drier doesn't dry properly either ... All these products have been purchased in the last 18 months, I won't be buying Samsung again.

Hi Becks.
I have had the same problem with my Q-Drive for three years each year.
The issue is the seal in the auto dispense pump fails when prolonged exposure to the fabric softener occurs.
I have raised this with Samsung. It’s clearly a design fault and they should be doing something about it.

They are absolutely awful at responding and are arguing it’s a warranty issue.
My argument is that if it’s a design fault then the warranty is not relevant as this is a failure to properly check their parts for long term use.  The seal hasn’t a chance in hell of surviving as the material degrades

i took my dispenser out to see what was happening and attached is an image of the seal.  Compared to the detergent seal it has completely  deformed so you lose the vacuum that feeds the softener.

samsung are disgraceful and I too won’t buy another which is a shame as I love the machine.

No they havent

three years and so have the same recurring issue.

the fabric softener seal degrades over time and this is clearly a design fault.

Please let me know how you get on / if I can help too to apply pressure… your seals look exactly like mine!

I am contacting Which? today which is part of the consumer association.

There are far too many here having the same issue.  I feel this needs to be broadcast far and wide if we stand a chance of having Samsung doing anything about it.

It's galling that a machine that cost so much should fail at the most basic level.

I am pushing for them to replace the machine and of course my drier matches this machine so I am pushing to have that swapped too.   Such a shame.  But I am prepared to make a huge noise.

Thanks for your support.

Hi,

Unfortunately this is an issue that is not going to go away.   I am raising an issue with Samsung as I see that there are many of us with the same issue.

I am currently on my third failure and am refusing for it to be fixed again.  I have also contacted Which? Legal to take upon my case.   This is a design fault.
|I decided to look into this on my machine and took the auto dispenser to pieces and found the seal for the conditioner had completely degraded.  It was deformed so badly that it no longer allows the conditioner to be pumped into the drum.

You can see in the images just how bad it deforms.

I wold advise you start complaining to Samsung.  I am seeking a replacement machine due to this issue and the more who raise this the more pressure it puts on them. Please feel free to email me as I feel the more folk who join me in getting this sorted the sooner we can all have machines that work as they should.  These are not cheap units.  Mine cost £1,400.  and never expected it to face repairs year on year with the same problem.

Hope to hear back.

Kind regards

Jason

Hi, summer 2023 now and I'm in the same boat. Did you get anywhere with this?
Mine is still under warranty for a couple years yet so I'm getting it fixed under that but I can see this problem happening again!

Hi,

I had engineers out 3 times to my machine with the same fault.  I had a new conditioner pump assembly & new drawer each time, costing me over £500 as my machine was out of warranty.  I have now changed the machine and will not purchase another Samsung.

it seems i'm a bit late to this party....our conditioner dispenser failed after about a year but it sounds like it's the same issue as in this thread.

i've managed to take apart the dispenser and extracted the pump from it and i've managed to pop the back off the pump but i can't see where the gasket is located. Do you happen to have a photo of the pump when it was taken apart? or do you have a suggestion about how to do it?

Never too late to join the party! The photo here shows the good gasket on the detergent side and the distorted gasket on the conditioner side! My new pump was installed 26 months ago now and (touch wood) is still going strong.
