My problem is my hinge won't open all the way now. It has hairs stuck in between I'm guessing the phone heat up and the black fabric hair that is soppose to keep dust out somehow is broken.  Samsung states I caused this problem however I will link a reddit proving other wise.

Please visit this link here ( https://reddit.com/r/GalaxyFold/s/mK6W8s6W7j) Samsung has known this to be A KNOWN DEFECT BUT WONT ADDRESS IT. I THINK EVEN IN THE FOLD 5 ITS STILL A PROBLEM. I still have warranty yet samsung refuses to fix it being an internal problem. Other people argued and samsung just sent them a brand new model but me I can't why? I still got my one year warranty so what's up!!!

Samsung galaxy z fold grey green 512gb although the colors don't matter it happens on all colors and models regardless of memory and size please fix this issue or send me what's mine under warranty please.

Well I just called samsung support and I made sure they knew it was an internal problem and I kept saying it a KNOWN SAMSUNG DEFECT and its probably in the Z FOLD 5 AS WELL, as im still under 1 year warranty they accepted my send in, they just send me the prepaid postage, im going to package my phone and send in for a repair, most likely they will give me a replacement which I am fine with due to I never seen a hinge being fixed, everyone who got this problem said they just gave them a new phone replacement, so problem SOLVED if you all read this YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO FIX FOR FREE IF YOUR UNDER WARRANTY AND YOU DONT NEED EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE IT AN INTERNAL DEFECT FROM THE PHONE ITSELF!!!.

Both my Sister and I have had Z fold's for 2yrs now. We both love the phone but notice neither of them open fully as they used to making them more like an open book. Apparently some sort of hinge repair is needed and its very expensive. Samsung boast that the phone can be opened  200,000 times before any potential problems occur. We disagree.

Yeah and I just realized I posted in wrong forum UK eu forum?? I live in America although this problem persists through out countries because its the PHONE DESIGN AS the mod said to escalate it that does NOTHING. ALSO MY MAN who said 200k folds samsung know it's bull**** this is actually one of repairs for free as it's am internal design by samsung that is messed up by samsungs own design. So we are not at fault we just use the phone and the phone somehow melts your dust catchers and sticks in the hinge so we both should be getting a repair how about is samsung will you honor your word repairing ohones with no PHYSICAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY DROPPING IT ETC? It melted or broken inside just by the heat of the phone and my warranty expires in 2024 of July.

Hi HC, I bought my Samsung in California as I spend half a year there, I did not realise there was a US and UK blog but I note what you said about a free repair, they should honour their pledge, It's not right is it to boast 200k folds without fault? I love the phone but now it won't lie down flat and I notice the split more.

hi i had a similar hinge issue before but I just sent my phone to service centre and Samsung just fixed it. The reason that Samsung refused to repair your phone might because that you applied external tools (as described in your reddit post) to your phone. The hinge problems are definitely known issues and I just sent my phone to service centre again because the hinge destroyed the inner screen...

I'm having same problem. Hinge is cracking and creaking. And a pink lime down the screen. Sent it to Samsung and because the phone has a few scratches they say the warranty is void and I've caused the damage. Complete and utter rubbish and an absolute scam. Sky who I bought the phone off the repair centre and Samsung all seem to be in cahoots and just pass the book to one an other. I'm giving Samsung escalations a call today because I'm not having this. It's completely not right whatsoever

I have same issue. But samsung is not accepting it. But they are giving me all the excuses how the warranty will be void and defect might be the cosmetic damage. So BEWARE if your phone nothing related to hinges have small scratch, Samsung will ask you money. That's what they are doing trying to get as much money as they can from their faulty products.
