Fold 4. Wifi not turning on

I received the latest firmware update on the 15th of May. After installing, the phone restarted several times on its own but appeared to be fine to start with. What I did notice though was that the phone was very hot and the battery was draining quickly, till it eventually switched it self off. So, I recharged the phone and switched it back on. What I found was that the phone had gone into flight mode. I turned the flight mode off and then I found that the WiFi was turned off. I've tried turning on the the WiFi. It turns it self straight back off. I've tried resetting the network settings. Makes no difference. The WiFi will not turn on.

I am having the same issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turning off on their own, then will not turn back on.

I followed all the steps from Samsung members support including a very lengthy backup and restore on a 1Tb Fold 4 (18hours to backup and the restore), but problems remain.

The only change now is if you restart the phone in safe mode, it looks as though Wi-Fi is working for a short while but then it reverts to not turning on again. Bluetooth has been restored since the factory reset, not that that really helps giving you a working phone!

Over £2000 for a phone with Zero solutions from Samsung to rectify the fault, even after months of reported issues.

Totally not acceptable Samsung, everyone take to social media and shout loud about this major issue which is being ignored!

just updating about my case

by now. wifi does not work even when folded , same with bluetooth. not working at all.

did partition wipe and network reset . does not help
didnt do factory reset as I really need the phone for my daily work with all the app and it will take time to restore everything  + read that it does not really help to guys here.

questins :

1 - do you know if the warranty is international ? i bought in Israel and now living in Denmark so not sure they will take care and honestly , does not want them to open the device as i am not sure it will be the same after they open it

2 - do you know when next "update" should be released ?
3 - any idea how we can push Samsung to make a fix quicker...

Hey everybody, I just got my phone back from Samsung and everything is working.  Confirmed it is a hardware issue and, at least here in Texas, they are aware of the problem so no questions about drops or user fault.  I'm fortunate that we have a service center here in town so it only took a 1 day turn around.  Mine is apparently not the 1st to come in as they had the replacement hardware ready to go so obviously Samsung knows this is an issue.  Hope this helps.

I really wish we could get clarity on this for people who are having the issue. It's great you got yours fixed. Over here, and it seems with most people in this thread, it s a tough luck situation. Did you get any sort of service number or repair info from them that we can maybe reference when trying g to get this sorted?

When I picked it up I was told that they had to replace the wifi module.  Since they had the parts ready to go I told her it would’ve been nice for Samsung to at least put out a statement that this is a worldwide problem and to streamline the process for people who are not near a service center.  I’ll never go back to apple but with the Pixel Fold coming out and seeing how they have handled this issue I’m starting to question my Samsung loyalty.

same problem here, at first wifi is just working if the fold is open but when I closed it, wifi will disconnect and cannot be reconnect again even I open the fold. Need to restart the phone to be able to connect to wifi. after several days, both wifi and bluetooth was not working even I restart the phone. tried to reset the phone to factory default but nothing happened.

Fortunately, it is still under warranty but the problem is I am working abroad and there's no Samsung service center here. Luckily one of my friend went on holiday to Philippines so I gave her my phone to be check. 

 

I will update here once I get a feedback. finger crossed that it will still be fixed as it was my wife gift during our wedding last year in November.

My husband phone (Z Fold 4) having the same issue yesterday... We tried the same troubleshoot you describe and still not working. Today he is going to visit authorized repair service. This phone have 9 month! Incredible!

Update on my case!

After having my phone for 96 hours, SAMSUNG in Doha got back to me saying that main screen needs to be replaced. Because of a small dent on the front screen, they are claiming my phone is out of warranty and charged me QAR 1750 (circa $480) to replace the screen.

I have mentioned this forum to the technician who totally ignored me. I will pay for the repair, after all I paqid for the phone originally, but will not be going for another Samsung anytime soon.

Suggest we make some noise on Twitter/X, because this situation is a total joke. The silence of the moderators on this topic is just outrageous, they know what is going on but SAMSUNG decides to shy away from their responsibilities.

update on my case.

 

According to Samsung service center, they need to replace the LCD. fortunately, it is still under warranty so no need to pay but I need to wait for the parts which will come on the first week of September. 

and the warranty will just extend 3 months after replacement. So if the issue occur again after 3 months we need to pay around US$600 to US$700 to fix again the phone.

When we asked if this is the first time that they received an issue about fold 4 not having wifi and bluetooth they said they had several. 

will update again after the phone fix.
