I keep trying to expand notifications from apps such as Gmail to preview things that i want to keep the notification for to get to later and it opens the apps bc the area to expand the notification is so small after the last software update (4)

Really is an annoying bug! Would love to see it fixed. For now, pulling down with a finger works, I suppose.

Came here just because I find this so annoying I need badly to fix it. Opening app and losing each notification destination is unacceptable.

Back when I bought the phone, I had Motorola and Samsung shortlisted. Motorola features Android One (ie. pure Android, no added stupid manufacturer UI). This alone kept me wondering what to choose and ended up with Samsung. Clearly wrong, no more Samsung (actually, no more non-One Android version). I wonder why manufacturers keep adding their useless cr@p to stock OS...

2 years and the arrow is just as bad. Horrible experience and customer support.

No they haven't! If you start scrolling down then expanding with one finger is turned off. It works only in a first glance, then when u go down it gets turned off

God, I've swapped to Samsung's ui after lg, Huawei and Xiaomi and what I need to say? How ridiculously bad Samsung is reacting on users issues. Who the heck designed this feature so badly and what kind of ui testers let that be in a final release? It's the end of 2024 and this arrow thing effing sucks and gets people frustrated to the moon!

There is a solution for manufacturer's annoying UIs: it's called Android One. My previous phone was a Motorola, just because they featured some One terminals  among their product lineup. Recently, I was tricked into giving Samsung a chance and I'm regretting it every day. In the future I'll stick with Android One terminals, whatever the manufacturer, as long as it provides decent hardware.

I tend find every manufacturer's UI layer absurd and annoying if not plainly irritating. I wonder who's the id**t who thinks they can do better than Android/Google UX teams and think adding their crappy UIs will do any better.
