Hi @Joshua04, to help you identify if it's the cover, as process of elimination, have you tried removing the cover from your Z Flip5 to see if this still happens while the cover isn't applied?

Thanks for confirming that, @Joshua04. Are you using an official Samsung case that was manufactured for use with the Z Flip5, or is the case produced by a third-party manufacturer? I ask that, as there may be instances where third-party phone or tablet cases do not represent a perfect fit.

Ah, that makes sense. It's possible that the case's cutouts are not a perfect fit for the phone, and this could be blocking a sensor.
Alternatively, it could be another feature of the case that is causing an issue. Have you had a chance to check the customer reviews to see if other customers are experiencing the same issue (and to see if there's a workaround)?

I haven't been able to locate one, @Joshua04, but I do appreciate the convenience of that feature in a case. I recommend reaching out to the seller/manufacturer about this, as it might be able to assist you with troubleshooting the issue.
