Unfortunately mine is already getting worse, and it seems pretty clearly to be hardware-related. In some further reading, I see others blaming a ribbon cable that either cracks or becomes detached after many repetitions of opening and closing.
Right now it will still light up if I open the phone all the way in one direct motion. If I open it slowly, it won't wake up. Not happy at the direction this is going, as I assume the warranty on this 3-year-old phone is long gone.

I have the same problem after the last update yesterday.
I think it is a software issue as I have never encountered this issue since I purchased it (secondhand device) 45 days ago.
I switched from Nokia G21 to this flip due to its small size fit for my scrap pocket during my 18-hour hospital shift.
NO MORE SAMSUNG IN THE FUTURE!.

As mutch as I would agree with you I would say the brand is not the issue just this phone being old and haveing issues the flip was bound to have something like this eventually I would recommend a phone like the s 21 or newer becuse the battery life is super good on my s 21 I have done 12 hrs without charging and with newer phones as close as 24 hrs on one charge so for your shift as you have described I would recommend the S24 or something older like a s21 with my experience I would say other Samsung phones are great but ones like the flip are not as good becuse they are new teach

Hi,thanks for the comment.
I think that the issue is with the BRAND.
I see Samsung now falls behind iPhone and even Nokia in bugs and issues.

As someone who has used the flip and other Samsung phones to compare it to I would say that still the flip has a lot of bugs but the main flagship phones don't have any bugs though I could see how this could be frustrating for your first time with a brand I am not anti apple or anything I was just giving my experience but as you work in a hospital I see how you could just need a phone that you can trust and for that I would say chose the phone that you think would be best for you

Thanks for the tip. I may try it since I still have the phone but I moved on from Samsung years ago. I'm on a ROG phone now
But maybe I can use the Flip 3 for Wi-Fi and watching videos etc

For some reason I had my flip 3 reset and now the issue is gone I have no idea what caused it but the phone is perfect again
