Unfortunately mine is already getting worse, and it seems pretty clearly to be hardware-related. In some further reading, I see others blaming a ribbon cable that either cracks or becomes detached after many repetitions of opening and closing.

Right now it will still light up if I open the phone all the way in one direct motion. If I open it slowly, it won't wake up. Not happy at the direction this is going, as I assume the warranty on this 3-year-old phone is long gone.

I have the same problem after the last update yesterday.

I think it is a software issue as I have never encountered this issue since I purchased it (secondhand device) 45 days ago.

I switched from Nokia G21 to this flip due to its small size fit for my scrap pocket during my 18-hour hospital shift.

NO MORE SAMSUNG IN THE FUTURE!.

As mutch as I would agree with you I would say the brand is not the issue just this phone being old and haveing issues the flip was bound to have something like this eventually I would recommend a phone like the s 21 or newer becuse the battery life is super good on my s 21 I have done 12 hrs without charging and with newer phones as close as 24 hrs on one charge so for your shift as you have described I would recommend the S24 or something older like a s21 with my experience I would say other Samsung phones are great but ones like the flip are not as good becuse they are new teach

Hi,thanks for the comment.

I think that the issue is with the BRAND.

I see Samsung now falls behind iPhone  and even Nokia in bugs and issues.

As someone who has used the flip and other Samsung phones to compare it to I would say that still the flip has a lot of bugs but the main flagship phones don't have any bugs though I could see how this could be frustrating for your first time with a brand I am not anti apple or anything I was just giving my experience but as you work in a hospital I see how you could just need a phone that you can trust and for that I would say chose the phone that you think would be best for you

***FIX**** finally!!!!

I found out that the corners of the folding mechanism were pinching on one side, one corner, when I would open and close the screen. Inserted a small square piece of straw (fake plastic kind)  between the screen and hing mechanism near volume button and tape it, so that it forced it not to pinch as hard on that corner. It is used as a very thin spacer. I put my phone cover over it all to hold it in place. This completely stopped the problem, 100%. Sometimes there is a software lag, but this is different becauce i will hear the 'screen on' click noise delayed, and the screen does turn on. Ot stopped blinking, glitching like this video shows. My phone used to do the exact same and it drove me nuts for like 5 months. Almost forgot about this thread, so I decided to look it back up and share this good news. This fix has worked 100% now for over 2 weeks. I was initially inspired by reading something online that it had something to do with the mechanism sensor after dropping it. But with me it def had to do with how it was squeezing and pinching  on one side of the hinge mechanism. Good luck to you all!!

Thanks for the tip. I may try it since I still have the phone but I moved on from Samsung years ago. I'm on a ROG phone now

But maybe I can use the Flip 3 for Wi-Fi and watching videos etc

For some reason I had my flip 3 reset and now the issue is gone I have no idea what caused it but the phone is perfect again
