Black screen when opening my phone

Hi for the last week or so I'm having trouble with my Samsung z flip 3, when I open the flip the screen goes black and won't come on unless I push the side button couple of times or have to close it and open it again can anyone help or is there anyone else having this problem can samsung fix this issues?

Thanks for this! It seems to work, basically update and force stop and also remove any permission for the app.

I had this problem with my s21 ultra and I took it to a shop who use samsung for their repairs and they ended up changing the screen even though I really didn't think there was anything wrong with it as when you restart it, it's fine.

Got the Fold 4 now and it's happened again this week, really think it's a software issue, I've tried everything I could think of including the steps mentioned above, only thing I hadn't done was clearing the cache partition, but this hasn't fixed it.

If I start the phone with it opened or closed and leave it that way, it's fine and continues to work, it's only when I open the phone when closed, or if it's opened then I close it, the screen goes and stays black, you try to unlock it and hear the click but it just doesn't come on, and I know it's crashed cause I try to connect to it with my watch and it says my phone isn't responding, same if you try to call it, only way I can get it back on, is power button and volume down keys.

Really didn't wanna factory reset it as it takes so long setting all your apps back up and my samsung store is quite a way from me, I'm insured but will mean sending the phone off and paying the excess, looks like my only option will be is trekking to samsung, was hoping if a software updated dropped, this could fix it

I have worked around the problem by not opening my phone all the way when I use it. If I keep it slightly closed, the screen never "blacks out" after flipping the phone open. It is my opinion that this problem is a hardware device problem as all other methods of fixing have not been successful for me.

My flip phone the protector screen on it started to bubble in the fold, couldn't see much on my phone, so had to remove it, screen keeps turning off everytime I open it also,

Same here drives me mad especially if needed quickly!! Would never buy a flip again!! My friend had dame and now has a new phone!!

I fixed the issue just a moment ago on my Flip 3 by turning the Always On feature located here "Settings > Lock Screen > Always On Display " off then back on again,  unlocking is behaving normally now.

Hey, Shelley123 wat was the last feedback from repair, cause i am sitting with same issue and they also said the phone was dropped.

My z flip 3 is doing the same and it's only since the last update.zTried all the recommendations and.nothing sorted it,wasn't like this until the last update so cone on samsung get it sorted,your phones cost enough without needing repair bills!
