My WhatsApp chats didn't download properly on my S25ULTRA, I still have to refer to my old phone .

There could be a number of reasons, so I suggest: Settings > Apps > WhatsApp; clear cache, delete, and then go to the store and redownload. Smart Switch sometimes has issues with WhatsApp; did you use this?

Make sure to log in to WhatsApp on all phones and back up your chats. When setting up on a new phone, scan the QR code in WhatsApp after clicking "Linked devices."

I presume you used SmartSwitch. As you don't say.
Because WhatsApp is a secure chat. You will need to backup your WhatsApp chats in the app.
Then on the new phone restore from backup when setting up

Smartswitch can't backup or restore WhatsApp chats. WhatsApp backs up to Google Drive. To make sure you get all your latest messages do a manual backup on your old phone. Settings, Chats then Chats Backup. When setting up WhatsApp on your new phone it should ask if you want to restore your chat history.

Had the same issue, even after backing up tge chats.. Swap tge Whattsapp to your old phone, if it looks OK.. Go to setting, chats and do a transfer chats.. When your offered Google or other options ignore..
You will then have to scan a qr code.. Once complete that should be sorted.. PS.. Backup chats to Google just in case.. My issue was I could backup but I could not get tge S25Ultra to download. Good luck

Because of problems in the past with WhatsApp, I made a check list for myself when transferring to a new phone.  

Here's what I wrote to myself -
Backup WhatsApp (in the older phone) - 3 dots, Settings, Chats, Backup
