S25 Ultra double press side button no working anymore.

Hi All,

Had my s25 ultra for a few weeks and the side button double press has randomly stopped working...

It was working previously and a week or so ago, it just stopped opening my camera (the desired shortcut).

Strangely, the button itself is still working - it will still lock my phone if I single press, and will contact emergency services should I spam it.

Wondered if I am missing something as it seems purely double pressing is broken...

Go to settings (main phone settings), search "double press (side buttons)," click on "double press," and change it to camera.
Make sure that it's selected. If it already is- change it to another app, then change it back to camera

Corrupted cache data in the camera app could be causing conflicts.

Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear cache.

It is possible a recently installed application is causing a conflict. Booting into safe mode, and then testing the double press function can help determine if a 3rd party app is the cause.

Use the Samsung Members app to run diagnostics on your phone's hardware. This can help identify any potential hardware issues with the side button

Although it seems unrelated, sometimes network setting issues can cause unexpected bugs. To reset these settings:

Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings.

May also try a soft reboot
press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time for more than seven seconds.

2. Turn on the device
3. When the Samsung logo appears, press and hold the Volume down button
4. "Safe mode" will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen

Thanks so much for the ideas. But none of these worked... Thinking it might necessitate a trip to the store...

Go to settings > general management > reset > reset all settings

If it still doesn't work try back everything up and do factory reset.

If both fails try contacting customer services or visit samsung experience store if you have one close to you.

I had a similar thing happen to me as well.   I forget whether it was the double click on the Power button to call up the Camera or a long click to call up the Shut down buttons.  I either rebooted the phone or cleared the cache for the entire phone and that solved the issue.

I'm using MicroSoft Launcher and when strange things happen with a new phone, I don't know who to blame.     

At any rate, the problem was solved quickly.

Possibly a customisation app or widget. Have you installed anything like that recently?

Hi all - bit the bullet and tried a factory reset.

And it worked!
