Contactless not working

For a couple of days now my contactless payments are not working. When I go to pay, the terminal cannot pick up the phone's presence, the payment terminal does not register a nearby device that is paying. Nothing happens is what I am trying to say.

I have re added the cards successfully and authorised them via my bank app.

I think there is an issue with the NFC on my phone. I have tried to reboot the phone, I have tried to turn NFC Off and turn it back on again.

I am at my wits end here, I don't really want to use Samsung wallet as I use Google services to manage my cards etc and it integrates nicely with Google wallet.

I have not tried Samsung pay yet, nor do I want to.

I have tried without a case on the phone, and I have tried on multiple different terminals across a couple of different shops. All to no avail.

Have you run a diagnostic test on the nfc?
Is the phone in a case?
I have Spigen case and having zero issues with contactless payments

Hey there

I've had the same issue.

Solution

When you want to pay, instead of opening the Google Wallet app, pull down the Quick Access Menu and click on wallet there.

The contacts are a the top of the phone if it helps.

Try taping the phone from the top bar.

Same here, can't get Google Wallet to do anything when in a shop.

This is contradictory with that the NFC settings pays says - it shows a blue circle by the middle of the phone next to the camera bump

At least on my screen, there blue circle is around 2/3 of the way up the phone. Not in the exact middle. Samsung pays animation also shows the top of the phone. But hey at least you can setup contactless, s25u users kinda can't. Since the phone is so new, 99% of cards fail when trying to add them

No idea. Mine worked when I tapped it at the top. I just use it that way now. 😊

Samsung Pay seems to work better than Google Pay for me. I have decided to use it permanently from now on.
