Samsung S25 Ultra Rear Camera Video Recording Not Working

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my Samsung S25 Ultra. The rear camera can't record videos on any app—whether it's the default camera app, Instagram, or TikTok. However, the front camera works fine, and I can take photos with the rear camera without any issues.

Whenever I try to record with the rear camera, the app just hangs and shows no display. My software is fully up to date. I've already tried restarting the phone, but the issue persists.

Hello 👋 @Wong Wei Sheng and Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Have you ever been able to record video on this phone ?

How long have you owned the phone? Look at any cooling off period.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Hi @BandOfBrothers , I got my phone on February 6. I never actually recorded a video before, but I did test the video mode in the camera app, and it was working fine at the time.

Right now, any app that takes photos works perfectly, but any app that tries to record video just hangs and doesn’t display anything. This happens across all apps, not just the default camera app.

Any idea what might be causing this? Appreciate any help!

Hey @Wong Wei Sheng

Try Safe Mode first to see if that highlights anything.

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

If not then Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port or a usb-c to usb-c phone to phone set up to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

Lastly a factory reset.

However you shouldn't have to be troubleshooting so early into ownership.
