Hello,

I would like to get notification sounds from email client and messengers like Viber on the smartphone speaker while i am connected to my car's bluetooth.

I enabled Separate app sound, selected Yahoo Mail and Viber and selected Phone as bluetooth device. But notifications from Viber and Yahoo are not played on phone. I tried the opposite - enabled YouTube and sound to Bluetooth and still can not get sounds from the rest apps to the phone speaker. They all go to BT device.

Help please.

If i select YouTube and Phone the sound is heard from Phone and not in BT - this is correct and exactly what i want for Viber, Yahoo Mail, Facebook but NOT FOR YouTube 😞

@Miro_I: It may be the case that Separate app sounds only works for in-app sounds, so it is not possible to differentiate notification alerts between Bluetooth devices.

Hmmm, not tried it that way. Let me have a go and I'll report back.

AndrewL you are right. I just tested. All notifications are going through BT but sounds of selected apps are heard from Phone.

Is there any solution regarding notification sounds?

My old Xiaomi 12 was able to sound notifications from Phone while connected to BT.

This is what I get when changing to tablet. However, it seems that everything is still going through the separate bluetooth device.

UPDATE: Swipe down from top of screen and tap Media Output. Toggle between your phone and Bluetooth device, and you'll hear sound from either. This is how mine is set up (I use a tablet, but the principle is the same).
I've got Samsung music playing thru the Echo dot, but everything else comes thru the tablet inc notifications.1724158978352_1724158978347_0.jpg1724159428065_1724159428056_0.jpg1724164223382_1724164223375_0.jpg1724164282637_1724164282633_0.jpg

I found a workaround of the issue by installing Sound Assistant from Samsung store. Then opened Sound Assistant, selected Advanced settings > Alerts through headphones > Notification Off and now i can hear app notifications in both phone speaker and BT device.

It is not a complete solution for those who want listening to music without interruption by notifications. I wanted to be notified for chat messages or emails while i am in my car.

Glad you discovered a workaround. Does this only work for headphones though?

Works with any BT.

I fixed this issue. First, disable all your settings of seperate sound and remove all apps of it. Then configure it again and choose device and apps again. Go to media output in notification panel and set your main device as 'This Phone'. Bingo. You are done.
