Secure Folder Issue: Banking Apps Unable to Register Due to Lack of SMS Access on Samsung S24 Ultra

I am experiencing a significant problem with the Secure Folder feature on my Samsung S24 Ultra. Banking apps are unable to register because they cannot access SMS messages. This lack of SMS access within the Secure Folder is preventing essential two-factor authentication and verification processes required by these apps.

This issue is critical as it hinders the functionality of important financial applications, impacting my ability to manage and access banking services securely. What is the use of the Secure Folder if such a basic feature doesn't work? Even cheaper phones now have this functionality. I urge a prompt resolution to enable SMS access within the Secure Folder, ensuring that banking apps can register and operate as intended.

Why don't you register the apps first, then move them to your secure folder? I did on my z fold 5.

How did you do it? When we move/add an app inside a secure folder, it requires a new registration and functions like a newly installed app.

It was easy. I have First Direct banking app. I copied the app into secure folder. It made me log in again. Sent me an OTP number to verify. Then biometrics. All set up. I checked the app on the main screen. It works the same too. You do need one ui 6.1 to do this. I received texts no problem. Same with credit card apps.

Thanks for the response. I can see that the app you tried asks for a one-time password (OTP), which we can enter manually. This feature is working fine, as we can get the OTP outside the secure folder and then enter it as required.

However, the apps I'm trying do not ask for an OTP. Instead, the app sends an SMS for verification. At the backend, the verification code is verified against the registered mobile number with the bank. Since the app is not able to send the SMS itself inside the secure folder, I am unable to use these apps.

To Verify , You can try moving the SMS app inside the secure folder and then try to send the SMS from there.

Yeah, my apps give me a choice of sms or OTP. I always choose OTP. Hope you find a solution.
