Screen write on S24 Ultra

When I do a screen write on the S24 Ultra, the picture darkens a ton.  Never seen this on my S22 Ultra.  Seems most prominent when writing on pictures I've taken on the phone rather than screenshots.

Yes I do.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

@Rainman22 when I look back at my gallery app the photo is the same size so maybe something yo do with the uploading.

However yes it is slightly dimmer.

I'll also try @PaulM1 suggestion.

Edit > Super HDR is already turned On.

Great point!  I looked at Gallery settings and Super HDR was on.  I toggled it OFF and now the pictures seem the same.

I'll take a look too.

@Rainman22

I've turned that setting off and now the photo looks just as the original.

That's great, @Rainman22. I must concede that I had the settings in reverse, which is why I wasn't able to replicate this (irony, maybe?!). With Super HDR toggled on, it WAS darker when saving the Screen Write photo.

However, if you wish to keep the Super HDR setting toggled on, even though the saved Screen Write picture will save as a darker version than the original...you can easily and quickly use the remaster feature which instantly restores the brightness.

When viewing the saved Screen Write on the Gallery app, swipe up and click Remaster. The AI will let you see the Before and After results. If you're happy with the changes, just drag the slider all the way across the photo and save it to your Gallery.

Step 5 in the guide below (from Samsung Australia) gives a good visual representation of this:

Thanks for the follow up...  I don't have that remaster setting in my Gallery App

Have been using phones since 1993, and am self taught.

I offer advice for free, cos I think it'll help, if it doesn't, explain why, I might learn something new too.

Current phone Galaxy S22 Ultra
Previous phones: most S series, Note 2, Samsung Alpha, iPhone 3gs, far too many Nokia's!

That's my pleasure. Yes. The overall instructions in that guide do not apply to One 6.1. It was just Step 5 that I was referencing for completeness, really.

I've enclosed a link to the picture showing the Remastering effect (to access this option, please swipe up when viewing a photo on your Gallery app > Click Remaster > Apply the effect > Save):

Turned out to be the Super HDR on the Gallery App settings.  It needs to be off
