My new base S24 has been constantly around 40°c since last night and has not stopped being that temperature ever since. It's really annoying, this is a new phone. It's stupidly hot to the touch.

There are many reasons why your Samsung phone may become hot, and this does not suggest that it is faulty, @somecallmejoey. If your device is overheating it will display a notification indicating that it is getting hot. If your device is getting too hot it will shut itself down. If there is no warning notification, then your device is fine.

The tips on these guides can also help:

Might be worth Wiping the Partition Cashe on the phone

Wiping the Partition Cashe clears out a lot of old or corrupted information that can cause issues

Follow the steps below. You must follow every step and you should be done in about a minute

Turn off your phone.

Connect your phone with a USB cable
to PC or another Samsung mobile

You will see the charging icon on your screen.
Wait till it shows charging with battery percentage.

Next, press and hold the Volume up and Side key simultaneously.
You can press the volume up button just before the Side key.
The Samsung Logo followed by
Samsung Galaxy appears on the
screen.

At this point, release the keys
Phone will boot into Android Recovery mode

In Android recovery mode, using Volume keys, choose "Wipe Cache
Partition" .
Use the power button to accept that.
You will then see its cleared.

Then the top option, reboot phone.
Press the power button to reboot the phone and then sign in normally

My 24 ultra was the same for a week or so...I too was concerned but it's fine now... I can only guess it's a large number of background tasks, syncing etc

Use slower chargers when charging the battery. They are better for the batteries health and don't overheat the battery like fast chargers do.

It may warm up @somecallmejoey but shouldn't be too hot to touch.

If your within your cooling off period then keep that timeframe in mind.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi. Check for any sync errors under settings and accounts.

Sometimes the phone stuck on sync for photos or even WhatsApp can make it heat as it's trying to use servies in the background.

I am having the same problem and took this to the Samsung store and I got advised that I have live with this as they can only do anything if their report generated gives back saying that if the phone temperature reaches upto 50°c
