Hey everyone, Just wanted to share my experience after updating to Android 15. Right after the update, my Samsung phone started overheating a lot. The battery was draining super fast, and many of my apps were crashing — it was really frustrating.

After checking things, I noticed my Barclays bank app was one of the main causes of the battery drain. But I also know that after big updates like this, it's always a good idea to do a factory reset.

So I backed up everything and did the reset — and wow, what a difference!

Now the phone is: Cool and not overheating Fast and smooth Battery is lasting like it should If you're having the same problems after the Android 15 update,

I highly recommend doing a factory reset. It really fixed everything for me. Hope this helps someone out there!

I think a factory reset is the nuclear option
Personally a Wipe partition cashe usually does the trick.

I did a clean install on my S24U. It would be silly to have to do a factory reset after going the harcodre clean installation way.

The battery life is terrible on OneUI 7.

I have Battery Guru running in the background at all times, and the stats go like this based on my usage:

OneUI 6.1.1 active drain:

• Light mode: 7-9%/hour

• Standard: 10-13%/hour

OneUI 7 active drain:

• Light mode: 12-15%/hour

• Standard: 16-18%/hour. It tends to sit above 17 with ocasional dips to 16, but a bit rare. It's at 17.2 now while typing right here.

Scrolling through YouTube Shorts turns my S24U into a furnace.

Idle drain has been better for me. Overnight, for instance, the idle drain sits at around 0.5% on OneUI 7, with Sleep mode turned on and the Power Saver activated with it. On OneUI 6, it was a little higher but still good.

So yeah, it's been a week since I installed this thing. There's no way "things will settle" or improve to what itbwas before because on OneUI 6, the drain was only a little higher at the beginning, going from 10%/hour in Light mode to 8-9% after while. Now it drains drains twice as much battery.

I will leave it be for a while though. I really want to see if Samsung aknowledges the issue first.

Factory reset is a last resort option for me.

I backup the phone, disabled Microsoft Swift keyboard (there was an article that said it had problems), updated it, clear cache partition and my S4 Ultra seems to be working fine so far.

I am one person that generally likes when moving major android updates once a year, to do a factory reset.

A few years back when changing between s10+ and s21 ultra i suffered incompatibility issues causing some heat and drain... and a factory reset resolved this for me then.

Whilst it isnt for everyone as it is a lot of hassle, when moving major updates then I backup photos to google photos, contacts and messages also to google account, and then write a quick list of what apps I want to reinstall.

I also use this task as a bit of a Spring clean... and only install those apps that I will require in the next month or two. Anything else can be reinstalled upon when I have a need to use it again.

Obviously this can cause a few issues with passwords and with the higher security banking apps... but ultimately I feel it keeps a new software 'fresh'.

Smartswitch can potentially cause some incompatibility issues with older apps, previously written for earlier android...

Updating all apps within google play and samsung store can often resolve these issues, but I do like to have a clean experience.

not experiencing any of these issues, but my S24 screen randomly freezes from the update. 1 week ago, this is now the fourth time. The middle of the screen stop accepting any touch, I can still swipe down the notifications and settings but cannot press any options. The only option is to hold volume up and power for it to restart.
