The read tab on my samsung free app has disapeered. How can I get it back?

*****, that's absolutely absurd. It was the only feature I used on the bloated app and was my go to for a quick morning news catchup. What I cannot fathom is that the older version is still avaliable on the galaxy store IF you search via a browser as it won't show if you search on the s24 galaxy store... so my question would be... how to download that older version of the app and install on my s24 ultra? And will it work? Tbh g discover is pants and not on par with what I could read on the read app....

You can probably find and download the app for the older version. I was annoyed at first but I installed upday which samsung free used for the news. Turned on notification so still get notifications for the news just can't swipe right from home screen to open it like could with the samsung free app

This is what samsung support said about it:

We kindly inform you that we have received an answer regarding Samsung Free because the 'Read Tab' is no longer on the app from the department in charge of Samsung Free.

First, tabs in Samsung Free may vary depending on country, carrier, device, and OS.

Starting with the S24, the Samsung Free Read tab is no longer supported.

Please note that tabs are constructed by comprehensively considering the characteristics of the content, national laws, and technical support.

Yup I have downloaded that too but found that it literally bucks the battery life out of my new s24 which is otherwise fantastic on battery. 2 and half days with moderate high use is great for me... until I needed an update fix, which did dramatically decrease the battery...

What a load of codswallop by samsung support... if it ain't broke.... going to try and somehow download and add manually if I can...
