Hi Guys,
I've noticed a return of serious background battery drain issues that I initially experienced on One UI 6. After updating to One UI 7, everything worked perfectly for about a month — battery life improved, background CPU usage dropped, and sensors stayed quiet. But now, the same problems have returned.
Here’s what I’m seeing based on GSam Battery Monitor:
Some non-wakeup sensors remain active for long periods:
Major wake locks are triggered constantly by:
In addition, nearly all CPU time was consumed in the background, suggesting constant activity by system-level components. Many of these wake locks are tied to UID 1000 (Android system), meaning it's not user apps but the core system that's responsible. These services can't be disabled manually and seem to run regardless of user interaction.
At this point, the excessive system-level background activity is clearly impacting battery life and device performance. I've already tried limiting background processes and disabling unnecessary apps, but it doesn't help because most of the drain comes from built-in services.
I’m sharing this hoping that someone from Samsung or the community can offer a fix, workaround, or at least acknowledge this as a known issue. I'd really like to stay with Samsung, but reliability and long-term performance are essential — especially on a flagship device.
Please let me know if this is being addressed or if there's anything else I can do to troubleshoot or fix it.
Thank you and have a nice day,
