So, not sure what helped cos I did two things: I turned the RAM plus back on (set at 2GB) and I cleared the partition cache, I also always kill all the apps before getting into the car and starting AAwireless. Since then the phone does get warmer in what I think is the antenna area but it's not as hot as previously, also temperature probe shows very slow increase from 28 when iddle to no more than 33 after approximately 40 minutes of driving. So I guess it is better, still not as cool as my Motorola but that's something.
