Bluetooth and Android Auto

The phone needs a Bluetooth connection to the car (allowing 'audio' pass through) for the text to talk which I use ALOT and audio functions to work (such as leaving a WhatsApp voice file, a voice recording). When the phone has this, all those features work - however when the phone also connects to android auto (wired or wireless) the 'audio' pass through disconnects (you can see it greys out on the phone as the android auto connection is made ) and then none of the features work - this is all since the latest release. I have an S24 Ultra and drive and audi and all software is up to date, multiple restarts and uninstall have been performed.

Any fixes pls?

Hi @Princeofegypt

Welcome to the community forum.

Android Auto should take of all those functions. When I connect my S24 Ultra (wired) to my car. Android Auto handles all my phone or WhatsApp calls, messages, etc, as well as media playing.

Try clearing cache and or data for Android Auto. You might like to unpair the phone from the car and the car from the phone and try to reconnect them again.

Settings -> Apps -> Android Auto - > Force stop

Settings -> Apps -> Android Auto - > Storage -> [Clear cache | Clear data]

By the way, my phone has firmware BYEC, latest according to my phone.

Hi there... Thanks for this... I agree it should take care of it but it doesn't... It was all working fine until either a) Samsung update to latest ui or b) android auto latest update. When I'm driving and I want to talk to text, I press the little mic symbol on the keyboard and I speak and it types... Nice and simple and always used to work... Now since one or either of these updates, it can't hear me... Bizarrely if you should really loud it can... I did some digging around and testing... If I don't connect to android auto and I'm just connected to the car via Bluetooth (with audio pass through) it's all fine... As soon as the phone connected to Android auto, the audio pass through is greyed out, all those talk to text gestures don't work

I tried your suggestions - thank you - but not resolved anything. Android auto seems to disconnect Bluetooth audio for some reason

What is byec?

BYEC are the last 4 characters of the firmware version, which changes with every update.
