Can't connect to android auto

I've used my s24+ on android auto on my citroen c3 for 18 months with no issues. Then it started intermittently to fail to connect. Now it will not connect at all

I've swapped cables, updated software, cleaned the charging port, restarted and reset car infotainment system, even factory reset the phone. Nothing works. Connected another phone to the car and it worked absolutely no problem. So the issue is clearly with the phone. 

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Have you tried go to settings > apps > android auto > 3 dots on the corner uninstall updates?

It could be the car unit try to reset that back to factory settings
