Watching video clips on X, YouTube and others. When the video ends my S24 Plus has started returning to screen sleep/lock mode. What's even worse is when I then double click on my phone screen to wake it up, nothing happens. Same if I press the power button, remains on black screen. I have to hard press and hold power button, which prompts fingerprint or code to get in, then when I access it I get a black screen with the 3 menu buttons at the bottom, press one of them and the phone returns to where I was when I watched the video- X, YouTube etc. Anyone else had this? Tried deleting cache in X and still happening.

Hi, and welcome to the UK community

Try a hard reset

With the device powered up, Hold the Volume down button and Power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. The screen will go off. Continue to hold buttons until the device vibrates and the Samsung logo appears. Release buttons. Device will reboot. Once done, please check if the issue is resolved.

Also, try a cache partition wipe

Plug into a working PC or laptop or other Samsung device

Finally, consider uninstalling those apps that cause this problem and re download them.

No I've not had this issue personally @BigScotty with the apps you've highlighted.

Has anything happened recently like a software update  / App Update that coukd be the culprit.

Try > Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

@Robin999 I did the hard reset and it had become less frequent but still occasional. Thanks for the tip. My previous reboot clearly wasn't enough.
@BandOfBrothers no software or app update recently. I'll have a look at the Clear Partition Section, thanks

Please let us know how you get on @BigScotty

Hopefully this is a glitch that self resolves.

You can send feedback to Samsung via your Samsung Members App too.

That sounds promising. Try the partition cache wipe in the last bit of my reply.
