Annoying when you buy a new phone and it is not as good as your older phone.. S24 wifi issues is very disappointing. Apps will not work while connected via wifi anywhere.. got told to turn the 5hz wifi setting off.. am I to tell every home I go to and say that lol.. businesses.. you don't upgrade to downgrade grrrr

sadly i have the exactly same issue with my s24 ultra.
Router: Fritzbox 6660 with DualStack
After some time, the S24U drops IPv6 resulting in timeouts for several apps. I also reported this to samsung, but they wanted me to bring it in for a repair.
Is disabling band steering really solving the issue?

This issue continues to persist. Super sucks.

Hi, I’m experiencing an issue where several apps don’t work when my phone is connected to Wi-Fi, but they start working when I switch to mobile data. WhatsApp keeps showing a message indicating it’s using mobile data even when it’s connected to Wi-Fi.

Update: I got a reply from Samsung Support. Here it is:
"Hi! We have received your report and we have checked it out.
that's the normal behavior. installPacketFilter is used to update the APF filter program whenever it receives an RA packet, and update the binary program with new lifetime and install it on wifi chip. For setMaxDtimMultiplier, IpClient received multiple CMD_SET_MULTICAST_FILTER cmd from wifi module, it's used to enable or disable the multicast filter associated to APF.
Kind regards, Samsung Electronics Benelux"
I'm quite technical, but this goes beyond my knowledge. I wonder if I can tweak anything in my modem's IPv6 settings (FritzBox) regarding RA or Multicast, but will check with my ISP as well.
Some more details:
The May 2024 update broke my speakers and selfie camera, so I brought it to Samsung Support. They first tried reflashing the firmware/software to no avail. They then replaced the motherboard which fixed those issues. The IPv6 issue remains, even after multiple factory resets.
I'm on the May 2024 update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra (One UI 6.1, Android 14). Model is SM-S928B/DS
My WiFi network is a 5GHz-only, Wifi 5 (ac) network with IPv4 + IPv6 and WPA3. Modem is a FRITZ!Box 7583 VDSL with FRITZ!OS 7.57.
The IPv6 issue only occurs on my S24 Ultra, not on any other devices (Windows 11 tablet, Macbook Air, and older Note 20 Ultra)

I also am having these intermittent Wifi issues with my Galaxy S24 Ultra. I work from home so it's very apparent when it happens. I need to authenticate to certain work sites and I use my phone to do that and when I know a ping to my phone should be happening it doesn't until I turn off WiFi and go on 5G.
I'm using the Eeros WiFi 6 mesh network which has been great for 2 years so far and coming from a S23 Ultra, so to definitely appears to be an issue with the phone itself. We have other devices in the house that don't have any issues i.e. work laptop

I have the exact same problem as you do. I also moved from s23 to s24, and initially everything worked fine, but after the recent update I started having problems. As I work from home most of the time, I use wifi, but when I see that I am receiving Microsoft teams messages on my laptop, but not on my phone app, then I realized the issue is with my phone. On the other hand, the apps work fine when the WiFi is disconnected.
Not sure how can we compel Samsung to take this seriously and fix the issue.

I would imagine Samsung is aware of it and working on a fix. Just have to be patient I guess. There's too many users for them not to know about this.

I have the same problem with WiFi on my S24 Ultra. It is definitely nothing to do with my router because very other connected device works fine - and no problems with mobile data either- which I'm using now.
I seem to have narrowed it down to a DNS issue because I can connect to the router using its IP address and other devices on the LAN. No problems with other external sites via their IP address either - using an SSH app works fine. Just impossible to browse the Internet.
I am going to try the suggestion in here about configuring your DNS servers manually.
