I like the Galaxy S devices very much. Every year since the S6 models, I try to pre-order the newest, most powerful device. But for the past two or three years, I've had a very bad feeling about this. The S24 arrived in January, but its AI functions were incomplete and lacked language support. The S23 and S22 Ultra remained in the family. Sometimes the S23 Ultra takes better pictures than the S24 Ultra, and even the S22 Ultra can take better pictures than the S24 Ultra. This doesn't sit well with me. The S24 Ultra should be at least as good as, if not better than, its predecessors. It is now August, and leaks suggest that a significant camera patch is coming. What? So, I spent a lot of money on a beta device? Is there any chance Samsung will slow down a little in the future? I used to be proud of my device and the Samsung brand, but lately, I don't feel that way anymore. When the S24 Ultra was released, it had software problems, and the camera seemed to be in beta mode. Now, the Galaxy Watch has software problems. Samsung no longer seems like Apple's rival; it looks more like an expensive Chinese model.

Totally appreciate your viewpoint @PeterBer

I too purchase the flagship phone's however my personal experiences hadn't been the sane as yours.

It's pretty standard across the sector for phone's to be launched and then patches / updates are sent out to refine functions , features and to answer feedback provided by owners sent via the Samsung Members App.

I haven't bought into the new watches as my preference is watches with a physical rotating bezel so cannot comment on Amy personal experiences from using that watch.

Chatter on tech blogs snd social media and YouTube I do listen to but don't choose to make a decision Purley based on it.

In many ways Samsung isn't Apples rival imo they actually lead the industry standard with others catching up or adding features to their phone's and re branding what it's called.

I appreciate we all have our own thoughts on what we use and take this on board.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Why do people always compare Samsung to Apple. They're like chalk and cheese.

Samsung are continually improving their products, and despite the initial teething problems with the S24, it's still a great device. You certainly didn't buy a 'beta' phone. I do hope the forthcoming update irons out the camera issues and users can enjoy their phone to its full potential. AI is a relatively new feature that will continue to evolve over many years and on many devices.
Having said all that, I still think the S23U is the best handset Samsung ever made, in both looks and performance. I'm hoping the S25 improves on this and turns out to be everything we've come to know and love about Samsung.
I wouldn't own an Apple phone if you paid me. 🙂

Just to clarify, I feel the devices need more tests, or I don't know what else. And as @Robin999 said, the S23U is the best. But the fact is, the S24U has better hardware, so it should be better from the beginning. And it will improve after it gets the forthcoming updates. So maybe in September or October, I will have a better device. But soon it will be February, so the S25 is coming. I'm pretty sure a lot of Samsung customers will switch to the S25U. I would do it, but I don't feel comfortable being a beta tester again and waiting for the forthcoming updates to have a phone with full potential.
