Old photos keep appearing in recent files

I've been facing a peculiar issue recently, where old photos from my phone's gallery keep popping up in my recent files or folders. It's not that I don't enjoy the trip down memory lane, but it's starting to clutter up my recent files, making it harder to find what I need quickly.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any solutions or tips to manage this? I'm using s24 if that helps narrow down the possibilities.

Open My Files app. Tap 3 dots ( top rh corner). Clear recent files list, then tap settings. Tap Edit menu layout. Untick Recent files.

@Mais2 it might be also worth checking any sync settings to see if photo's are being drawn from other cloud sources and or back ups.

I never had a problem with my S23. When I move a picture to its own folder, it would remove it from recent. Now, with S24, it keeps it in recents. If I delete it from recent, it deletes from the folder I moved it too also.😫
